I was inspired by Dawn from Majik Horse and the beautiful patchwork coats she has done….so, I figured why not make one myself and see what happens. Well, this was one of those projects that turned out to be WAY more time consuming than I had anticipated but, I learned a whole lot in the process. There were days I just wanted to burn this goofy thing but, I struggled through to the end, thanks to the help of my best friend, Shouting Mountain. I definitely went overboard on the machine embroidery. And it wasn’t necessary to use quilt batting sandwiched between the outer panels and the lining. It made it too warm….lol.
Coat is made from tons of different fabrics, trims and threads, too many embroideries, natural cotton batting, with a brown poly lining.
